DONALD STRUGGLING TO HIT HEIGHTS
Luke Donald's pursuit to get back the number spot in golf got off to a bad start at the Zurich Classic. Luke has to finish in the top – 7 at the golf event in Avondale, Louisiana, if he is to get back to the top spot and dethrone Rory McIlroy, who will not be playing till Wells Fargo Championship next week.
DONALD WANTS TO IMPROVE
The world of golf has been turned on its head in recent times with the top three players coming from the British Isles and former world number one Luke Donald wants to regain some of his English pride by clawing back to the world number one position that he lost to Irishman Rory McIlroy at the Honda Classics.
CADDIE LANDS SCOTT IN TROUBLE
Adam Scott has been receiving a lot of criticism lately for not having reacted to his caddie’s racist remakes against Tiger Woods.
His caddie was condemned by Tiger Wood’s management as well as the Professional Golfers Association for having made a racist remark against Tiger Woods. But it was Adam Scott’s lack of criticism against him that has now attracted attention in the golf fraternity.
Adam Scott's caddie is Steve Williams, who claimed that Scott’s win at the Bridgestone Invitational was the best of his career, despite having won thirteen majors with Tiger Woods.
KAYMER READY FOR CHALLENGE
Martin Kaymer is quite geared up about the fact that he will have Tiger Woods as his competitor at the esteemed Abu Dhabi Championship. The tournament is to be held in the middle of the year and there have been talks going about the pairing up of these two star personalities to compete against each other.
MICKELSON BRINGS IN HARMON
In a bid to solve his swing problems, Phil Mickelson has made a call to his swing coach Butch Harmon. Mickelson made these calls after he made some loose shots in the first couple of days of the Phoenix Open at Tournament Players Club (TPC) Scottsdale, Arizona.
Mickelson is trying to make a comeback after he performed poorly in the Farmers Insurance Open where he failed to make the cut for the first time in 10 years. Mickelson's woes continued in the Phoenix Open which forced him to contact his instructor.
MCDOWELL BLAMES HIMSELF
Irish golfer Graeme McDowell is expecting to return to form after making a strong beginning at Abu Dhabi in this season.
Finishing jointly in the third position at Abu Dhabi, the Irishman is hoping to grab his confidence with the newly found form and carry on with the battle.
McDowell grabbed the US Open in 2010 after a breathtaking victory just a week previously at the Wales Open. He came off to lead the European Team to another astral triumph at the Ryder Cup in October at the Celtic Manor, which the golfer believes is the most significant event in his life.
FURYK HELPS USA WIN PRESIDENTS CUP
Jim Furyk and Tiger Woods attended to some unfinished business when they won at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, taking home the much coveted President’s Cup. The victory was made sweeter due to the fact that it was at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club where they lost the same tournament in the year 1998.
Tiger Woods was named as the captain of the American team and this was viewed with much doubt and criticism in the golfing world. But it was Jim Furyk who stole the show. He was the most important member of the team and contributed towards the American victory the most.
MCDOWELL HAS A YEAR TO FORGET
Graeme McDowell became the first Northern Irishmen to win the US Open in June 2010. With the win, his life changed for the better - he soon joined the PGA Tour, which had previously exempted him from playing in some of the the majors for the last five-years.
2010 also saw him make the final putt and help Europe to secure the Ryder Cup victory, with his 5 foot putt in the last match against Hunter Mahan finishing the tournament.
DONALD PULLS OUT OF SHANGHAI
Luke Donald, the World number one golfer, has pulled out of the HSBC championship in Shanghai so that he can be with his wife who is giving birth to the couple’s second child.
The organizers of this HSBC tournament earlier released a statement which said that Luke Donald was hoping that his baby would arrive early but in the end he chose to cancel his trip reluctantly.

garcia has fallen out of love with golf in 2009, and struggled to put his game together. A few months spent on the sidelines left him uninspired, and it was only when he helped out Colin Montgomerie as an Assistant Captain at the Ryder Cup that he began to regain his spark. Since then progress has been steady.
