SERGIO IS BACK
Everyone's favourite attacking golers is back! After winning his first tournament in over four years, Sergio Garcia has announced his return to the upper echelons of the game!
garcia has fallen out of love with golf in 2009, and struggled to put his game together. A few months spent on the sidelines left him uninspired, and it was only when he helped out Colin Montgomerie as an Assistant Captain at the Ryder Cup that he began to regain his spark. Since then progress has been steady.
The win at the Andalucian Masters takes Garcia back into the Top 20 Golfer rankings for the first time in over 3 years, but it was the nature of the win that impressed fans the most - hitting an eagle and birdie on the last two holes to win the tournament.
"It's been two amazing weeks." said Garcia.
"Miguel fought so hard and had some good chances coming in. I wasn't as good as probably the last 13 days, but we hung on and managed to pull through.
"On 18, we decided to play a little more conservative and make sure we hit the fairway, then the chip was just amazing. I thought it was going in.
"I've been in that situation three or four times on this course. It wasn't easy, but I believed in my ability. To be able to hit the chip I hit there and roll the putt in with the pressure, it was nice."
